    The buzz about Artificial Intelligence (or AI) is taking center stage in many conversations these days. Some view AI as a positive and innovative way to create content; many view it as a cause for concern; and most are just not yet sure how to view AI (or even understand what it is).

    “People first” content is rewarded by search engines like Google because the emphasis has shifted toward quality content, as opposed to content that is created specifically to game the search results system. On the one hand, Google seems to be OK with creators using AI to develop content as long as it is reliable — and not used to manipulate search results. On the other hand, AI writing tools are seen as spam in Google’s webmaster guidelines. It’s no wonder there’s confusion. At the end of the day, it just makes good business sense that the development of SEO content with a “people first” approach must be driven by people, first! While AI can be used in the process, it should be used sparingly and for generating basic ideas and in some cases drafts; but again, all content generated via AI must be validated.

As well, content generated by AI may not always be accurate and must be checked (by human beings). AI should not be used by itself for SEO content (or otherwise), as it can actually hurt SEO results if used without caution and editorial oversight. Here’s a sobering question:
